Congratulations on graduating, Maria!!

You are officially a young adult. How does it feel?

I'd just like to point out that Maria graduated with high honors and a Principal's award. Plus, she looked pretty in that red gown... ya stood out, girl! No really, you were beautiful.

Anyway, congrats!! I am so excited for you to head off to BYU and follow your dreams (even those you haven't discovered yet). I hope you have an awesome freshman roommate, like I did, who will help you get out every once in a while. Right, Emily?? You've grown up to be a radiant, confident young woman and I love you. Graduated!

We are graduated!!

We began the graduation festivities Wednesday night after our last finals at Carrabba's with the whole stats crew (stats masters students and their spouses/kids).

Yum!

Commencement was on Thursday (we barely made it, haha!) we sat in the 2nd row.

I'm usually not a big picture person, but here you go anyway!

It was really fun to walk across the stage, even though the gowns are quite silly. Also, my parents and Doug's dad flew all the way out! It has been so fun having them here. They are good packers too ;). I can hardly believe we've finally made it to this point. Everything -from graduation, to packing, to saying goodbye - feels so surreal.

Grad School

Doug and I will graduate in April. Doug will have his master's degree in Statistics and I will have my bachelor's in Special Education. That's in 5 weeks. FIVE WEEKS! Hooray!

and then what?

3 weeks in Europe. Italy, Germany, and Rome. What a nice little vacation ;). After that, Doug has a paid internship this summer at GE's Research and Development center in Niskayuna, NY (my hometown, saweeeeet). And then on to grad school.

Where, you ask? That has yet to be decided. But, I am pleased to announce that Doug has been accepted to PhD statistics programs at Texas A&M, Cornell, Duke, and Harvard. YES!!! We opened Doug's acceptance letter (Harvard) at 10 AM this morning.
